2014 Newbery Medal Reading Challenge

I have been wanting to read all of the Newbery winners for quite some time.  I think the first time I contemplated this was in sixth or seventh grade (meaning more than a decade ago).  I have finally decided that I am going to complete this goal.  I am going to focus on the winners (not the honor books) from 1922-2014.  I am also going to do my best to review each of the winners as well.  My next goal upon completion is to keep up with future winners so as to never be behind again.  Want to join me?  I’d love the company!

Reading Challenge Details:

• Runs January 1, 2014 – December 31, 2014. You can join at anytime.
• The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2014 than you did in 2013.
• Books must be in audio format (CD, MP3, etc.)
• ANY genres count.
• Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
• You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads, Shelfari, Facebook, LibraryThing, etc.

Encouraging readers to expand past just physical books to embrace ebooks in all forms. Challenge

Guidelines:

This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2014 – Dec 31, 2014.

Anyone can join, you don’t need to be a blogger. If you don’t have a blog, feel free to sign-up in the comments. You can post reviews to any book site (i.e. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Goodreads, etc).

Any genre or length of book counts, as long as it is in ebook format.

You can plan your books in advance or as you read them.

When you sign up in the linky, put the direct link to your post about joining the E-Book Reading 

 Challenge.

Sign-ups will be open until Dec 15, 2014, so feel free to join at any time throughout the year.

DETAILS/RULES with Changes:

1. Read, read, read!
2. There are several levels to choose from
   Level 1: 100 minimum
   Level 2: 150 at least
   Level 3: 200 or more
3. You may move up a level but not down
4. You don't need a blog to participate. As long as wherever you link to is public so we can check out your books read.
5. Reviews are not necessary (but there will be a post so you can link up) but a list of books read is. 
6. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed.
7. Books allowed: Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Manga, Graphic Novels, Library books, Novellas, Young Reader, Nonfiction – as long as the book has an ISBN or equivalent or can be purchased as such, the book counts. 
8. Individual short stories in a collection or individual books in the Bible do not count
9. Crossovers from other reading challenges count.
10. Challenge begins January 1st, 2014 thru December 31, 2014. Books started before the 1st do not count. You can join at anytime.

We all have those books. We buy them, win them, they're gifted to us.. Then we put them up on a bookshelf and there they stay, collecting dust, waiting for the time when we'll finally decide to pick them up..

Join us on a quest to dust off your TBR Pile and read all the books you've been telling yourself you'll read next time you'll get a chance.. This is your chance! And we've got PRIZES!!! :D

Challenge Guidelines:

1. This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2014 - Dec 31, 2014.
2. Anyone can enter! You don't have to be a blogger, as long as you review the book you've read! (On your blog, Amazon, Random Buzzers or Goodreads/Shelfari!)
3. Any genre, length or format of book counts, as long as it is a book that's been sitting on your shelf for some time now. Short stories and novellas are OK, too! Only books released in 2013 and earlier! NO  2014 ARCs and 2014 fresh-off-the-press releases allowed!
4. You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap-up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you.
5. When you sign up in the linky, put the direct link to your post about joining the 2013 TBRPILE Reading Challenge. (If you don't have a blog, post about it on Facebook or Tweet!)
6. You can move up levels, but no moving down.
7. Sign-ups will be open until Dec 15, 2014, so feel free to join at any time throughout the year.
8. On the 20th of each month we will post a wrap-up post, here, on BOOKISH. Every wrap-up will have it's unique theme, a mini-challenge, a giveaway and place for you to link up your reviews from this month. For each review you link up, you will get one entry in a drawing of one book of choice from Book Depository. It's open to INTERNATIONALS. The giveaway will be open until the next wrap up post goes up! (i.e. the entire month)

I Love Picture Books Reading Challenge 2014 hosted by Gina at Book Dragon's Lair

For all of you who still love picture books but find they don't qualify for your other challenges. . . You know you're going to read them, they might as well count!

Guidelines:

• Challenge runs from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014
• Read picture books. 
• Pick a number and go for it. Twelve too easy? Go for 20. Piece of cake? Go for 40.
• Books you own and library check outs count. So do ebooks and re-reads.
• Please post about the challenge and sign up with a direct link.
• A blog is not necessary, just link to where you talk about the challenge
