This is one of the best children's books out there for kids
with active imaginations. It is illustrated in such a way that it could
be a duck, or maybe a rabbit. No, pretty sure it's a duck. Well... I
don't know. It's a Duck! Rabbit! The book is told in such a way
that it is best if read by two people, or by someone who is capable of
doing voices (so, not me) because it is two unseen characters arguing
over whether there is a duck or a rabbit. Finally they come to a
conclusion, only to be greeted by another creature that can be mistaken
for something else.
This book really is brilliant. It is very simple without
detailed illustrations or many words but that it part of it's charm.
It's a great way of introducing kids to optical illusions. It's also a great book for performance,
whether at a family gather with lots of kids or with a story time group.
It is hilarious to watch two people "argue" while reading this book to a
group of little ones. A good book to have on hand if there will be
kiddos (and adults willing to read) around for the holidays.
Happy Reading!
